11-year-old killed in single vehicle crash

by Minden Press-Herald

Louisiana State Police report an 11-yard-old Webster Parish boy was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

At approximately 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a one-vehicle crash on LA 802, about 2.5 miles east of US 371.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1993 Ford Ranger pick-up truck driven by 11-year-old Clark James Davis was traveling at a high rate of speed on LA 802, when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree.

Davis was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Webster Parish Coroner’s Office. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Impairment is not suspected. Speed is suspected to be a factor in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
