Ryan Gatti sworn in as District 36 Senator

Ryan Gatti is officially the new state senator for Senate District 36. One of 11 new senate members, the Bossier City republican was officially sworn in during an organizational session of the Louisiana State Senate at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people of Senate District 36,” Senator Gatti said. “We have many challenges ahead. I am ready for the hard work needed to balance our state budget and make our colleges and universities and our education system the true priorities they should be.”

In the coming months, the 41 year old attorney and small business owner will also focus on infrastructure needs in the area, growing the state’s energy sector, and standing with education leaders and teachers. Other issues important to growing the state’s economy and developing good paying jobs, such as workforce development and improving local schools, are also on Gatti’s priority list.

“As a long time resident of Northwest Louisiana and a father of four daughters, I want to make sure all of our children have an opportunity for a bright future in this state,” Gatti said.

Sen. Gatti is a graduate of Airline High School in Bossier City, LSU-Baton Rouge and LSU School of Law. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Bossier Parish and has served as a District Judge in the local Workers’ Compensation Court. He will continue his private legal practice in Bossier City.

Sen. Gatti is a member of First Baptist in Bossier City and serves as a deacon and teacher. He is married to Dr. Susan Lockhart Gatti, a psychologist with a specialty in school psychology. The couple has four daughters: Katherine, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Charlotte.
Senate District 36 includes all of Webster Parish, as well as parts of Bossier, Bienville and Claiborne.
