Little league basketball season off to hot start

Little league basketball season got underway last weekend at the Minden Rec. Center and we have the results from what was an exciting first weekend of play.

7-10 Girls

Kennon Angels 26, Minden Athletic 5

Keily Sumlin led Kennon with eight points, followed by Tiffani Brown with six, Jayden Dent and Dakota Howard with four points each and Tanesha Brown and Leigha Kennon-Gilbert with two points each.

Lamiracle Harris scored three points to lead Minden Athletic, while Layla Tell and Zyariah Mosi added one point each.

Impact 19, Lady Lakers 2

Addison Monk led Impact with nine points, Vivian Still scored six points and Colby Hollis added four points.

Aaliyah Jackson scored the only two points for the Lady Lakers.

7-8 Boys

Oregon Ducks 30, Fundamental Sports 5

Tyronn Grider led the Ducks with nine points, followed by Anfernee Sterling and Peyton Houston with six points, Camryn Davis with four points and Reginald Dudley Jr. and Christopher Harris with two points each. Derrick Bryant added one point for the Ducks.
Darnell Morris scored all five points to lead the way for Fundamental Sports.

Bradford Bulls 20, Cavs 18

Caylien Aubrey scored eight points for the Bulls, followed by Xavier Taylor with four points, Elijah Allen with three points, Willie Jenkins Jr. and Tashondrick Moore with two points each and Coltyn Robinson with one point.

Justin Walton scored 10 points to lead the Cavs, followed by Austin Walton with six points and Christian Hampton with two points.

9-10 Boys

Bradford Bulls 48, FJB 14

Mi’Jai Batton led the Bulls with 19 points, followed by Dexter Shyne Jr. with 11 points and Cameron Mitchell with eight points. Deonte Jackson and Damarion Clark scored four points each and Keidric Clark added two points.

FJB was led by Rictavious Harris with eight points and Brian Turner with six points.

Heat 14, Trojans 2

Berman Hamilton Jr. scored 10 points to lead the Heat, followed by Isaviyon Emerson and Lamichael Greer with two points each.

The Trojans were led by Michael Woodford with two points.

Heat 31, Tarheels 15

Berman Hamilton Jr. led the Heat with 19 points, followed by Isaviyon Emerson with six points and Zyan Warren with four points. Maurice Rabb added two points.
Kielyn Combs scored 10 points to lead the ‘Heels, followed by Na’Kayleb Reddix and Jekoye Knowles with two points and Jebraylon Holmes with one point.

11-12 Boys

Tammy’s Fast Tax 64, Elite 44

Deangelo Jackson led Tammy’s with 29 points, followed by Johntarius Thomas with 15 points and Cartez Alexander with 12. Andre Lewis added eight points.

Tyler Jefferson led Elite with 16 points, followed by Jamaira Taylor with 11 points, Kyrese Taylor with nine points and Kameron Wilson with eight points.

Tammy’s Fast Tax 64, Thunder 43

Deangelo Jackson scored 26 points for Tammy’s, followed by Cartez Alexander with 14, Jarvis Moore with eight and Andre Lewis and Johntarius Thomas with six points each.

Kentravion Lister scored 14 points, followed by Ty’Darrium Green with 11 points and Kevin Gill with eight points. Ta’Keviuntae Kidd added six points and Eddie Markray pitched in four points.
