Funeral services for Allen L. “Smitty” Smith will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 at Evergreen Union Church in Minden with the Rev.

Floyd Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Smitty was born Aug. 4, 1932 in Evergreen and entered into rest Aug. 14, 2015 in Livingston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Smith; parents, W.A. and Tahlee Smith; brother, Wayne Smith; and stepson Herbert Brown Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Smith of Livingston, Texas; son, Allen Wayne Smith and wife Gwen of League City, Texas; daughter, Terri Smith Jackson and husband Edward of Texas City, Texas; stepson, Dwight N. Brown of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter, Gwen Brown Jones of Sargeant, Texas; grandchildren, Jaime Hart, Beverly Baker, Courtney Smith, Tiffany Blissit; and seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
