Annual Webster Parish fair headed to Minden

The annual Webster Parish Fair Parade on Main Street at 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 30 will kick off the week-long fair anticipated by kids of all ages for an entire year. The newly crowned Webster Parish Fair queen will lead the parade.

Fair gates open at 5 p.m. daily unless otherwise specified, and Tuesday is $1 gate fee day, with $1 rides.

According to fair officials, gate entrance fee is $2 the rest of the week. A poultry and livestock show will take place at 6 p.m.

Highlights of the Webster Parish Fair include a special kids’ day from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday and a 4-H Swine Showmanship takes place at 6 p.m.

Senior citizens will have their day from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and there is a Dress Your Pet Costume Contest at 5:30 p.m.

4-H takes over the livestock arena after that with a Pee Wee Pig Show and Leaders/Principals Pig Pusher, both at 6 p.m. There will be a 4-H Goat, Lamb, Beef & Dairy Show and Doug Sale Showmanship beginning at 7 p.m.

Livestock remains the focus Friday, with the Buyer’s Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. and Livestock Auction at 1 p.m. in the Armory Building.

Saturday, the final day of the fair, is also Kids Day with gates opening at noon. The 4-H Talent Show begins at 10 a.m. From 1 until 5 p.m., kids can ride five rides for $5. Pizza Eating Contest at 2 p.m.

Live entertainment is scheduled every night with Char-Ray Karaoke, Stormy Weather Band, Dorcheat Bottom Band, Ethan Powell and the Triggers and Hard Times Band featured.
