Citizens of Minden woke up to subfreezing temperatures Friday morning. Following showers Thursday night, many found themselves dealing with ice.
“I had to remove a sheet of ice from my car this morning,” said Dennis Philebar of Minden.
Temperatures were hovering around 30 degrees at sunrise.
A wintry blast coated parts of Kentucky and Tennessee with sleet and ice early Friday, forcing schools to close. Meanwhile, parts of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama braced for another round of winter weather.
