Christelle was born Dec. 30, 1918, in Bryceland, and entered into rest Nov. 26, 2014, in Minden.

She was a faithful and active member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden until her health failed. Even after she entered Town and Country Nursing Center she still called and kept in contact with her Sunday school class members that she taught for years. Christelle sewed for the public a great portion of her adult life and made many close and lasting friendships. She was an inspiration to her family and friends and was described as a very strong person even in facing the death of her two youngest children.

Her husband, Robert Lavelle Watson; son, Charles Robert Watson; daughter, Mary Ann Sawyer; and sister, Beulah McDaniel preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Charles L. Watson and daughter-in-law, Annette Watson of Stonewall; son-in-law, Donald Sawyer and wife, Carolyn of Minden; grandchildren, Deborah Smith and husband, Roger of San Antonio, Texas, Dana Giddens and husband, Shawn of Minden, Donald Ray Sawyer serving in United States Navy, Thomas Sawyer and wife, Shelly of Hampton, Ark. and Ellen Goodman and husband, Ryan of Prairieville; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of friends.

The family extends a special thanks to nurse Jason and all the other nurses and staff of Town and Country Nursing Center who took excellent care of our love one.
