Clara Siah Jefferson, 88, was born May 13, 1930 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Dewey and Carrie Nelson Siah. A native of Minden, she resided in Shreveport most of her life. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess, choir member, and in hospitality. Clara moved to Sulphur where she lived for the past two years. She departed this life Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 8:53AM in her residence. She leaves to cherish her memories, seven daughters, Erma (James) Bradford Sr., Janice (Robert) Gorham Sr., Clara Mease Siah (Charles) Hamm, Vivian Jefferson, Wanda M. Jefferson, Saberia (Timothy) Jones, and April (Michael) Stewart; two sons, Harry (Flossie) Jefferson Jr. and Larry (Jeanette) Jefferson; sister, Beatrice Wilson; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jefferson Sr.; parents; and nine siblings. Her funeral will be 11AM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. James Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana. Pastor Marandalous Holland will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home and James Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 9AM in the church.
