CULLEN — When a Cullen man walked up to a crime scene and asked police what was going on, he had no idea that he would become the center of attention for a couple of North Webster Narcotic Task Force agents.
Springhill Chief of Police Will Lynd said 34-year-old Charles Adrian McDaniels let his curiosity get the best of him last week when he approached the agents who were assisting Cullen police at the scene of an attempted robbery and shooting.
“He walked up asking questions about what happened while we were working the crime scene at Chicks Drive Inn,” Lynd said. “Two of our task force agents advised him he was under arrest on a warrant charging him with distribution of marijuana. Undercover agents had purchased marijuana from him.”
Lynd said McDaniels is charged with one count of distribution of CDS Sch. I (marijuana). The chief said McDaniels was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where he is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
