Dorothy Lee Key Moore

Celebration of life services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Key Moore will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at noon at St. Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Robby D. Williams, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery.

Dorothy Lee Key was born on April 21, 1939 in Athens to the late Eddie Key Sr. and Eula B. Key. She was the fifth of eight children.
Dorothy confessed Christ at an early age and united with Mayflower Baptist Church in Minden.

Dorothy received her education at Warsaw Elementary and Hillcrest High School in Athens.

She united in holy matrimony with Reese Moore Jr. on Aug. 1, 1958. To this union six children were born.

She worked at Presbyterian Village in Homer and Town and County Nursing Home in Minden, where she retired in 2007 after 33 years of service.
Dorothy was very outgoing and loved to have fun. She enjoyed baking and fishing. She devoted herself to her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Eddie Sr. and Eula B. Key; her husband; Reese Jr.; her siblings, Eddie Jr., Wilson, Charles and Janice; and her daughter, Regina Keener.

Dorothy’s memories will be cherished by her children, youzLarry (LaFonda), Gary (Beverly), Mark (Deanna), Tomorrow and Kim; her 14 grandchildren; her 8 great grandchildren; her siblings, Verdia, Raymond and Joe(Ida); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 11 in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to kennonsmortuary@suddenlink.net.
