A Minden man wanted on a warrant for drug distribution is in custody after he was stopped on a city street by police detectives last week.

Alphonso F. Green, 37, a Cox Lane resident, is being held on a $50,000 bond at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper said. Green is charged with distribution of CDS Sch. I (synthetic marijuana), the chief said.

MPD captains Dan Weaver and Marvin Garrett, joined by Lt. Wayne Young, made the arrest after stopping Green on Lee Street just after 3 p.m. last Tuesday. Cropper said Green had been the subject of an undercover investigation into illegal drug activity and an arrest warrant had been issued through the 26th Judicial District Court.
