A celebration of the life of Ela Holley Upshaw will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Kathy Wafer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. till time of service Friday. Burial will be at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Ela was born February 1, 1925 to Ella and Philip Holley, Sr. and was raised in Dubberly, Louisiana. She entered into eternal rest December 11, 2017 in Minden, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Curtis Upshaw, her brothers, Aubrey Holley (Mabel), Doyle Holley (Carolyn), Walter “WB” Holley (Doris), Philip Holley, Jr, Bob Holley and her sister Effie Connell (Leroy).
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Koob (Mike) of Pegram, Tennessee and Jane Upshaw of Minden. She is also survived by her granddaughters who truly were the light of her life, Holley Willover (David) and Kelsey Mauer (Marshall) both of Tennessee, sisters-in-law, Eleanor Holley and Rita Holley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Holley, Harold Holley, Jerry Holley, Joe Holley, David Willover, and Marshall Mauer.
