Fight lands Minden man in jail

A Shreveport man was arrested following a fight that led to a man going to the hospital.

Cedrick Jones, 45, of the 5000 block of Kennedy Street in Shreveport, was arrested Saturday, June 27, and charged with aggravated criminal damage to property and aggravated assault. Bond was set at $35,000.

According to reports, Jones was the apparent aggressor in the fight between him and the boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend.

Officer Mitch Hackett and Sgt. Ryan Barnette responded to the call at the 500 block of Myers Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the victim explained Jones and his brother were there and the victim was trying to de-escalate the situation but Jones attempted to hit him. The argument escalated and the victim tried to get into his vehicle and drive away.

Reports indicate Jones grabbed a tire tool and smashed the driver’s side window while the victim was inside, causing injury to his arms and eyes.

He was transported to Minden Medical Center for treatment of the injuries.

Photographs of the vehicle and the victim were taken and submitted into evidence.

Jones was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
