Spicy Chicken Wings

It was about 9:30 p.m. one night when I developed a craving for Chicken Wings. I decided to go online and order eight chicken wings from Domino's.

Now I had never been to Domino's and it dawned on me never having been there I had no idea how to get there.

I knew about where it was located but since it was dark outside, I certainly did not want to be wandering around in the night. (I admit it, I still get lost in Minden sometimes.)

I then took my trusty Garmin GPS from its place in the kitchen drawer, got into my trusty "Hoss" (my car's name), and began concentrating on inserting the address to Domino's.

Then forgetting all else, I put the car in reverse and proceeded to start backing out. BANG!!! BAM!!! SUDDEN STOP!!! YEP!!!

You guessed it! I backed right in to the unopened garage door. I had been so engrossed in programing the Garmin, I forgot about everything else including the opening of the garage door.

What a "Ditz" I am!!!

Well, it made a pretty good size dent in the garage door but creaking and groaning, it still opened so I did make it (thanks to my Garmin) to Domino's for my chicken wings.

However, from now on, I think I will just keep a package of wings in the freezer and when I get a craving, I will just make my own Chicken Wings.

Spicy Chicken Wings

5 to 7 lbs. chicken wings
4 cups ketchup
2 & 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 & 1/3 cups water
1 cup hot sauce
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 & 1/2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder

Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips; place remaining wings in a greased 15 X 10 inch pan.

Spread them in a single layer. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and pour this sauce over the chicken wings.

Do NOT cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until juices run clear.

*Oh yes, my young Christian handy man friend, Lee McKinney, was able to repair the damage. The door works well now and no longer squacks. If you do look close, the scars are visible.
