BENTON — The Minden Crimson Tide dropped a 2-1 decision to Benton High School on Tuesday, which dropped the Tide into second place in district.
It was a close game throughout, as Benton scored an unearned run in the bottom of the first and Minden came back to tie it in the second. Benton scored the game's final run in the bottom of the third. Both Benton runs were unearned, scoring after Minden errors.
Minden starter Carson Bolyer pitched well, allowing just five hits in five innings, but suffered the loss. McCaul Lacobee finished out the final two innings with hitless-relief.
The Tide was only able to put across three hits against the Benton pitching staff. Turner Francis doubled and Bolyer and Sawyer Stevens both singled.
The Crimson Tide will host Huntington in a pair of games Thursday, as Minden High celebrates Senior Night. The Tide will also play at North DeSoto on Saturday.
The Minden freshmen and jv teams will play their last games today as they host Loyola at Griffith Stadium beginning at 4 p.m.
