Doyline Panthers fall to Converse

CONVERSE — The Doyline Panthers closed out their 2013 baseball season with a 5-0 loss to Converse Thursday in the first round of the Class B playoffs.

"We just couldn't put together any offense," Panthers coach John Austin said. "We loaded the bases in the first inning and didn't get any runs from it and never even threatened again."

Micheal Augustine pitched the first five innings and Zach Jordan pitched the final two. James Gaynor led the offense with two singles, Augustine and Cole Lillig each added a single.

The Panthers ended the season with a 7-16 record.
