At the end of his two-year contract this fall, Webster Parish School Superintendent Steve Dozier will step down.
Citing personal reasons, Dozier made the announcement at Monday's Webster Parish School Board meeting.
"Many of you know my son will be going to the University of Houston and working on his masters degree. My wife wants to spend time with him over there and with me here, it gets to be a chore, we have done it before and it's just not fun." Dozier said
Dozier's contract is set to expire August 31 however; he says business will continue as normal until then.
"I will be there fighting that Course Choice, working a budget and doing all that stuff we have to do to get ready. I'm not going to walk away from this."
There will be a special board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 13 to discuss filling Dozier's position.
