Foster Beavers

beavers obitDeacon Foster Beavers was born Feb. 2, 1943 to the late John and Beadie Beavers.

At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and united with Valley Springs Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Deacon Board and other ministries until his health failed. He was also a member of the Singing Corinthians.

Foster Beavers served in the United States Army and retired from the Louisiana National Guard.

He retired from the Webster Parish School Board after 15 years' employment as a shop mechanic and bus driver. He previously worked at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant.

On Oct. 19, 2013, Foster departed this early life and entered into eternal rest.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Garrison Beavers; his parents, John and Beadie Beavers; two brothers, Jessie Beavers and John L. Beavers; and a sister, Shirley A. Beavers.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory one son, Michael Beavers; one daughter, Tina Beavers Thomas (Eric); four grandchildren, Latoya Beavers, Ja'Terrius Beavers, Aaliyah Beavers, all of Minden and Michaela Beavers of Arcadia; two great-grandchildren, Justice Beavers and India Norton; two brothers, Freddie Beavers (Dorothy) of Minden and Joe Beavers (Susie) of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Alice B. Thomas of Minden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 26, at 11 a.m. at Valley Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Ray D. Jiles officiating. Interment will be at Valley Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will held today (Friday, October 25) from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary.
