It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood for everyone but the two misters Rogers, who were picked up Tuesday morning on multiple arrest warrants, stemming from an undercover narcotics operation.
Larryunta Lamon Rogers, 24, of the 1000 block of Talton Street, was arrested on two counts of distribution of CDS Sch. I Marijuana, felony second offense possession of Marijuana and parole violations.
Jarius Jamal Rogers, 19, of the 1000 block of Talton Street, was arrested on two counts of distribution of CDS Sch. II Crack Cocaine and parole violations.
According to Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper, around 9:20 a.m., narcotics officers Capt. Dan Weaver and Capt. Marvin Garrett, detectives Sgt. Keith King, Jr. and Sgt. Chris Cheatham and Ofc. Kenneth James and Probation and Parole agent Blair Lebel arrested Larryunta Rogers at a residence on Pershing Street.
"During contact, officers inquired if there were any illegal narcotics at the residence," said the chief. "Rogers indicated that there was some Marijuana that belonged to him hidden in a kitchen closet. They found a couple of $10-bags of suspected Marijuana, as well as a set of scales and another $10-bag in a bedroom."
Larryunta Rogers was on Probation, so a hold was placed on him by Lebel. Bonds on his distribution warrants totaled $70,000.
Approximately one hour later, officers reportedly traveled to a residence on Talton Street with two outstanding warrants for Jarius Rogers' arrest.
"Jarius Rogers' warrants had bonds totaling $80,000," Cropper said. "He was also on paper so Agent Lebel placed a Probation and Parole hold on him, too."
Both men were booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
