Viola Chandler, 92, died peacefully in her sleep in Waynesboro, Virginia, Dec. 20, 2013, after several years of gradually declining health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Roland Lavelle Chandler, two brothers both killed in World War II and one of her sisters.
She was survived by her other sister, two sons, two nieces, one nephew, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private burial of her ashes and her husband's ashes in her family plot in Jonesboro where she was born and raised, will be performed at a later date.
