Following teammate Turner Francis' decision to play at LSU-E, Minden High's Carson Bolyer is the latest Crimson Tide player to sign to play baseball in college next year.
Bolyer will play at Bossier Parish Community College.
" It feels great to be able to play college ball," Bolyer said. "Ever since I was very young I wanted to play baseball in college and so far I've achieved my goals."
Bolyer said he was glad to play close at home where his family could watch him play and that he would remember his days at Minden High fondly.
"They say when you look back you won't really remember bad times," he said. "You mainly remember the fun times you had. That's actually true. I will never forget the day-long practices when Coach Francis would order us pizza and then made us run triangles after. I'll look back on a lot of things but most of all I will never forget the friendships I made while playing at Minden High."
Boyler said he knows he has some work to do before getting on the field at BPCC.
"I think I'm mentally ready, but not physically," he said. "Each level has bigger and stronger athletes. I believe if I can get in the gym and gain some weight I'll fit right in."
