Council to elect Mayor Pro Tempore

As with every new calendar year, Tuesday night members of the Minden City Council will be electing a Mayor Pro Tempore for 2012 to make decisions for the mayor if he is in a position where he cannot perform his duties.

District E councilman Benny Gray served in that capacity during 2011. It was the first time since 2006.

District D councilman Tommy Davis served in 2010, while his predecessor Drew White filled the spot in 2005.

District B councilwoman Fayrine Kennon-Gilbert was Mayor Pro Tempore in 2009 and 2004.
