Lady Tiders on top, 6-4

by Minden Press-Herald

The Minden Lady Tiders were looking to break through and get a win to stop their two-game skid, and that’s exactly what they did with a 6-4 win over the North Caddo Lady Indians at the Minden Recreation Complex.

The Lady Tiders and Lady Indians met earlier this season at North Caddo with Minden winning 19-9, but in Monday’s contest, the Lady Tiders fell behind early to a Lady Indians team with upset hopes.

North Caddo held a 2-0 advantage after two innings, but Minden collected themselves and gutted out the win.

It was Halie Cross who earned the win in the circle for Minden. Cross struck out three North Caddo hitters for the Lady Tiders. Olivia Osborne earned the save, striking out three batters.

Osborne and Maliyah Newman each went 2-4 with two singles. Antasia Rhodes went 2-4 with a double and single.

Minden will take on Benton Tuesday in a pivotal district game at 4 p.m.
