LAKE CHARLES — A Lake Charles man has won more than $1.5 million in the Louisiana Lottery’s May 18 Lotto drawing.

KPLC-TV reports 45-year-old Jerry Simien claimed the $1,512,216 prize last week. He received $1,058,551.20 after state and federal tax withholdings.

Simien purchased the winning ticket at City Food and Liquor in Lake Charles. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $15,122.16, which is 1 percent of the jackpot prize.

Simien says he plans to put the money away for retirement.
