Lakeside falls at home to North Caddo, 17-0

by Minden Press-Herald

Lakeside played their final home game of the season against the North Caddo Rebels Friday night.

It was also the final home game for 10 hard-working seniors who have meant the world to the Lakeside football program and head coach Joey Pesses.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, it didn’t end the way they had hoped, as North Caddo left Sibley with a 17-0 upset win over the Warriors.

“They (North Caddo) played extremely hard,” Pesses said. “Coach Dupree did a great job of getting them prepared and ready to play, I don’t know what to say.”

Going into the game North Caddo had been winless on the year and five players actually quit the team after the previous week’s game. Motivation was cited as a possible reason for the outcome.

“I kind of told them I felt like we were flat,” Pesses said. “It was kind of like being in a prize fight. We were getting punched and punched and we never hit back. I asked them after the game ‘how are we going to respond from this Monday?’”

The Warriors will have to respond the right way in order to get an upset over a Lakeview team with the potential to score some points.

“I hope that we can bond together and come out ready to go against a very good Lakeview team,” Pesses said. “We’ll see where that game takes us.”

Ahmad Bishop led the Warriors with 105 yards rushing, followed by Darryl Moore who carried three times for 11 yards.

Frankie Chanler caught two passes for 20 yards from quarterback Thomas Lambert.

Lambert led the Warriors in tackles with an impressive 18.
