Funeral services for Larry Donnell Washington will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the 14th District Building in Minden. Pastor Abe Washington will be officiating.

Our beloved Larry Washington was born on March 4, 1957, in Shreveport, La to James and Bertha Washington, he was the 4th of 8 children. Larry accepted Christ at Saint Rest Baptist in Minden, La. Larry attended school in Minden, La. Larry moved to Rhode Island din the 1990’s there he found a job that he loved making jewelry and he often joyfully talked about it. He was a hard worker all of his life! In January 2005 Larry returned back home to his family that he loved and his community he loved JLQ!

Larry always offered a helping hand wherever he was and to anyone in need. He was a dedicated worker who was kind, caring, full of laughter, humble and a good hearted person! Larry was a very special son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend! His siblings loving called him “Poosie”. Larry was well-known for his expressions of saying “hot tamale no” when he was tickled! Larry loved his garden and watching football, he was a Cowboys fan! He happily enjoyed living his life.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents James and Bertha Washington; his eldest brother Terry Washington.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories, 3 sisters: Armer W. Jackson, Catherine W. Lee, and Susan R. Washington. 3 brothers: Tommy A. Washington, Ricky J. Washington, and Vincent Washington (Elaine) all of Minden. 7 nieces: Lisa Anderson (Alexandria), Tonya Washington (Dallas), Sherry “Red” Washington (Dubberly), Krista Jackson (Beaufort, South Carolina), Tameka White Leanders (Bossier City), Alisa Mosley (Alexandria), Star Washington (Minden). 5 nephews: Tyrone Lee (Ft. Worth), Marcus (Danielle) Gipson (Shreveport), Darrell Jackson, Morris Jackson, and Jimmy Lee all of Minden, La. 4 great-nieces, 9 great-nephews, 2 great-nieces and 1 great-great nephew a special friend Martha Malone and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, relatives, and friends.
