Law enforcement, firefighters and first responders were honored during a unity ride in Heflin Sunday. Minden Police Dispatcher Shanell Shine, Heflin Police Chief Paul Migues and Dubberly Police Chief Charles Mims were given certificates of appreciation for their dedication and service to the community. Heflin volunteer firefighter Robert Stachowicz, above, accepted a certificate on behalf of Heflin Fire Chief Stewart Beatty and Shine accepted one on behalf of Minden Police Chief Steve Cropper. The idea behind the event was to say thank you to law enforcement, firefighters, first responders and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
