Visitation for Leo F. Bailey will be held Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden with services beginning at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Crider officiating. Interment will follow at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Shongaloo under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Leo was born Nov. 28, 1922 in Shongaloo and entered into rest Aug. 1, 2017 at his home in Minden surrounded by family members. Leo was an active member and volunteered at First Baptist Church for 50 years, retired from International Paper Company after 29 years as a welder, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Leo loved his family and the outdoors. His passion was fishing. He didn’t walk, he sprinted. With his mega-watt smile, he was a charmer. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Franklin and Bessie Burns, brother, Billie Don Bailey, sisters, Janis Bailey Myers and Ida Mae Branton, daughter, Donna Rose Overkamp and step-son Mack Jefferson Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruby Mae Bailey, daughters, Rala Allen (Frank) of St. Joseph, Missouri, Frances (Charlie) Bragg, of Sequin, Texas, Betty Ann Skinner (David) of Georgetown, Texas, sister, Juanita (John) Klouenski of Plantersville, Texas, brothers, Fred (Georgia) Bailey of Vivian, Jimmy Lynn (Carol) Bailey of Shongaloo, Howard (Laverne) Bailey of Jasper, Georgia, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Bailey family expresses their gratitude to Regional Hospice, First Baptist Church, Dr. Earnhardt and staff for their loving care.
