Lil’ Tiders & Minden Athletic get big wins in Little League football

There was plenty of city league football action last week at the Minden Recreation Complex. Here are the results from Tuesday and Thursday’s action.

Acuren Rays vs. Saints

Elliot Sheppard had the big game for the Acuren Rays, scooping up a fumble and taking it in for a touchdown to give the Rays a 7-6 win. Tyrell Siah tallied 67 rushing yards on the night for Acuren.

Jordan Coleman led the Saints in yards with 93 and a touchdown. Coleman also recovered a fumble in the game. Cade Boley also played well for the Saints, rushing for 13 yards.

Cooper Tire Cobras vs. Little Tiders

The Cobras got a hard-fought 14-7 win over the Little Tiders thanks in part to Jaylin Williams who had 107 and a score. Daylen Robinson had a good game for the Cobras too, running for 73 yards and a touchdown, and Dexter Smith pitched in with 30 yards.

Jamaria Clark led the Little Tiders with 134 yards and a score, followed by Ty’Jaylyn Kemp with nine yards, Brennan Benton with three yards and James Paul Boyd IV with two.

Lil’ Tiders vs. Mohawks

Justin Richardson Jr. had a monster game for the Lil’ Tiders, totaling 147 yards and three touchdowns. Also turning in great performances for the Lil’ Tiders were Javis Moore with 110 yards and two scores, Je’Dyah Taylor with 87 yards and a score, Ty’Darrium Green with 38 yards and a score, Tristen Murry with a 12 yard touchdown and Cartez Alexander Jr. with 34 yards.
Kameron Talley led the Mohawks with six yards of offense and several tackles on defense.

Minden Athletic vs. Dawgs

Minden athletic topped the Dawgs by a score of 39-14.

Minden Athletic was led offensively by Jakobe Greenard’s incredible performance, earning 250 yards and two scores. Darryl Thomas had a good game as well running for 114 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Daquez Jackson ran for 53 yards and a touchdown, Collin Lane Richard had 26 yards and Asa Greer recovered a fumble to round out the Minden Athletic attack.

Skyler Butler played well for the Dawgs rushing for 39 yards and a score, while D’angelo Garner had 43 and a touchdown. Andrew Cooper pitched in with 27 tough yards.
