Little league All-Stars headed to state tournaments

All-Star action continued on Tuesday around the region and at the Minden Rec. Center, with four more Minden teams clinching a berth in their respective state tournaments.

Darlings

The Minden Darlings are district champions. The team was led at the plate by Baylee Bonsall with a triple and single, followed by Baleigh Haulcy with a double, Mackenzie McCoy with three singles, Brooklyn Davis with two singles and Leigha Gilbert, Leyla Slaughter, McKenna Chreene, Lucy Giddens, Hadley Haynes and Aaliyah Allen came through with singles for Minden.

The Darlings will begin their state tournament in Alexandria on July 8.

Belles

Minden 0
Vivian 17

The Minden Belles fell to the stout Vivian All-Stars, but will go on to the state tournament as second place finishers in district.

Da’Ty’Quesha Jackson and Morgan Starkey had singles for Minden, and Halie Cross and Bridget Morgan each struck out one batter in the circle.

Baseball

Vivian 0

Cason Clemons had two triples and one single, followed by Garrett Brown with two doubles and two singles, Jakobe Jackson with four singles, Landry Powell and Reagan Coyle had three singles and Parker Salas added a single and double. Brody Bower and DJ Carter had triples for Minden and Easton Sanders and Broox Swain added base hits.

On the mound, Coyle, Bower and Carter combined to toss a no-hitter.

Minden 10u 24
Haughton 2

Garrett Brown homered and doubled to pace the Minden offense, followed by Cason Clemons with a triple and two singles. Ethan Vise had three singles, Brody Bower, DJ Carter, Elliot Sheppard, Easton Sanders, Jakobe Jackson and Landry Powell added singles for Minden.

Powell and Carter pitched for Minden, combining for the win.

Minden 10u 26
Ruston 16

DJ Carter blasted a home run and tripled for the Minden All-Stars, followed by Garrett Brown with a big home run and two singles. Broox Swain crushed a grand-slam home run, Cason Clemons had two triples, Jakobe Jackson had a double and two singles, Reagan Coyle had four singles, Landry Powell had a double, Easton Sanders had three singles and Ethan Vise and Parker Salas added singles.
Coyle, Powell and Clemons pitched for Minden in the win.

Championship game

Minden 10u 18
Benton 7

Garrett Brown blasted a homer, doubled and singled to lead Minden in the title game after a loss to Benton in the previous game. Jakobe Jackson crushed a pair of doubles, Landry Powell and Ethan Vise doubled and singled each and Reagan Coyle, Easton Sanders, DJ Carter and Brody Bower added base hits.

Cason Clemons and Reagan Coyle combined for the win on the mound.

Minden 10u will play in the state regional tournament in Morgan City, July 15-19.

Sweetees

The Minden Sweetee All-Stars played a pair of games against West Monroe at the Minden Rec. Center, and will move on to the State Tournament in Deridder, beginning July 15.
