Mr. Davis graduated from Sibley High School in 1959. He worked for the LAAP for several years, Beard Industries for about 20 years, and then put in almost 20 more years before retiring from Libbey Glass. He was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. Louis’ loves were family, his friends, children (all of them), joking around, hunting, fishing, telling stories, singing, and playing his guitar. He was a member of Stockwell Road Missionary Baptist Church in Bossier City. He looked forward to the last Sunday of each month when he got to play his guitar and sing at church with his best friend and grandson, Stetson. If he wasn’t singing, he would be found pretend cooking with his baby girl Audrey in her Barbie Doll kitchen. To know Louis Davis was to love him. He had a presence and laughter that will be missed by all of us.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Bruce and Kate Frazier Davis and sisters, Barbara Davis Brunson and Christine Davis Tucker. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Katherine “Kitty” Davis; son, Mark Edward Davis; daughter-in-law, Joy Fory Davis; niece, Karla Thomas; grandsons, Stetson Davis of Haughton and Jeremy Evans of Waco, Texas; granddaughter, Alex Blake Gray (Ben) of Haughton; great grandsons, Tucker Evans and Roy Bruce Rifenburg III of Abilene, Texas; brother, David Bruce “Buddy” Davis (Elaine) of Shreveport; sister, LaNelle Davis Roberts (Buzz) of Pine Bluff, AR; special brother-in-law, Bill “B.G.” Thomas of Boyce; special adopted kids, Mary and Johnny Kilpatrick and children, Tanner, Bailey, and Audrey of Little Elm, Texas and numerous family members and friends who loved him dearly.
