Man jailed for terrorizing

by Minden Press-Herald

A Dixie Inn man was arrested Saturday for allegedly threatening to kill a Minden woman. Gregory Wade Beene was arrested for terrorizing by Minden Police.

According to reports at the time of Beene’s booking, the arrest stemmed from an incident involving a female victim who called police to report Beene threatened to kick in her front door, kill her, her three kids, and Beene’s own mother who lived in the residence. Beene was the father of two of the children.

The victim was scared for her children’s lives to the point she took them to a friend’s home to stay. She also recorded a phone conversation with Beene and played it for police. According to the report, all three officers who were dispatched have had extensive dealings with Beene and recognized his voice on the recording.

During their investigation, officers learned Beene was driving under suspension and his vehicle had no insurance.

Officers initiated a traffic stop at 405 Germantown Road and made contact with Beene. After several loud, verbal commands, Beene refused to exit the vehicle. Beene had such a tight grip on the vehicle’s steering wheel, officers were unable to remove him physically, the report said.

After a warning concerning the use of chemical spray, officers deployed said spray and dragged Beene out of the vehicle. He continued to struggle on the ground before being taken into custody.

According to the report, Beene had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcoholic beverages. He refused all field sobriety tests.

In addition to Terrorizing, Beene was charged with DWI Third Offense, Driving Under Suspension, Resisting an Officer, and No Insurance.

He was later booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
