On Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 Martha Thompson of Minden went to her Heavenly home after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden from 5 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church West Chapel in Minden with the Rev. Leland Crawford and the Rev. Bill Crider officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Martha was born June 23, 1933, to Curtis and Gwendolyn Milner of Bernice. After marrying Bobby Thompson, she became a faithful member of Minden First Baptist Church. She loved her Sunday School Class members and serving the Wednesday night church meal. Also, she delighted in preparing food for “shut-ins”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Curtis and Gwendolyn Milner, brother John Clinton Milner, and nephew John Curtis Milner.

She is survived by her husband Bobby, son John Robert Thompson and wife Maranda, grandchildren Rhyder Thompson and Skylar and Hunter Vaughn, sister Maxine Pender and husband Bob, and brother Jimmy Milner and wife Martha Lou. Martha was loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be; Jack Byrd, Randy Shelley, James Harrington, Patony Morrow, Mike Burton, Mike Jackson, Bill Kidd and Hal Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers: Robert (Tuby) Goodwill, Ken Garcin and Senior Adult II Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or donor’s choice.

The family expresses special thanks to Town and Country Rehab and 7th floor nurses at Willis Knighton Pierremont.
