Funeral services for Mavis Gay Guillot, 70, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at Unity Baptist Church in Cotton Valley, with the Rev. Scott Guillot, the Rev. Gene Gipson and the Rev. David Harrell, officiating. Interment will follow in Cotton Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church in Cotton Valley.
Mrs. Guillot was born on December 23, 1943 to Charlie Miller Andrews and Dovie Irene Ezell Andrews, in Gilbert and passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014. She was a resident of Cotton Valley for 39 years and a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church. She was homemaker and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Purvis Guillot Sr., on April 16, 2010; her parents; and sisters, Nellie Guthrie and Mary Lee Payne.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Sue Holtzclaw of Sarepta, Tracey Lynn Crank and husband Ricky, of Cotton Valley; three sons, John P Guillot Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Shongaloo, Russell Glen Guillot and wife Linde of Haynesville, Robert Scott Guillot and wife Lisa of Strong, Ark.; sister, Betty Parker of Vicksburg, Miss.; and brother, Charles Andrews of Cotton Valley; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be Riley Burns.
