Minden All-Stars going strong

There were more Minden All-Stars in action over the weekend as state tournaments continued. Some scores were not available at press time.

Here’s are the results from the Minden Angels, Darlings and AAA Nationals.

Minden Angels 13
Jonesville 3

Playing their state tournament in Rayville, the Angels got off to a hot start against Jonesville.

Emma Pitman and Maci Tanner had two hits each to lead the way for Minden, followed by Emma Earnhardt, Piper Stephens, Allee Spigener and Lauren Still with base hits. Gabby Salas, Emma Earnhardt and Piper Stephens all pitched well in the win.

Minden Angels 2
Rayville 1

In a defensive battle, Maci Tanner, Lauren Still and Allee Spigener had hits to lead Minden, while Piper Stephens struck out five batters to lead the way in the circle.

Minden Angels 7
Haughton 4

Sydney Robinson had a triple and single to pace the offense, followed by Emma Earnhardt with a double and a single and Piper Stephens with a base hit.

Stephens also tossed three strong innings, striking out six.

The Angels will play Union today at 6 p.m. in Rayville at the Tim McGraw Sports Complex for a berth in the state championship game.

AAA
Minden Nationals 8
West Monroe 7

C.J. Watts led the team with a home run and single in a close win over West Monroe. He was followed by Maddox Mandino, Dayton Sims, Bryce Powell, Cooper Chase, Chase Tolbert and Kendall Flournoy with base hits.

East Ouachita 11

Cooper Chase exploded for a home run and three singles to lead the Nationals’ offense, followed by Landry Powell with a double and single. C.J. Watts had two singles, while Kendall Flournoy, Maddox Mandino, Dayton Sims, Bryce Powell and Chase Tolbert added base hits.

Franklin 0

C.J. Watts had a home run and a double, followed by Bryce Powell who blasted a homer of his own. Maddox Mandino had a double and two singles, Brandon Winston had a double and Dayton Sims and Landry Powell each had two base hits. Cason Clemons added a base hit.
The Nationals will be back on the diamond today in Winnsboro at 7 p.m.

Darlings
Minden Darlings 10
East Ouachita 8

In Pineville, the Minden Darlings started state with a win. Riley Robinson, Jacey Adams and Audrie Teutsch each had a triple to pace the offense, followed by Addison Monk and Rebecca Mosley with doubles. Colby Hollis, Vivian Still and Mackenzie McCoy added base hits for the Darlings.

Buckeye 1

Addison Monk had a big day for Minden going off for three triples, while Jacey Adams doubled and tripled. Vivian Still tripled and added a single, Kylie Ryan doubled and singled, Colby Hollis crushed a triple as did Mackenzie McCoy, Riley Robinson and Lainey Mercer doubled and Rebecca Mosley, Audrie Teutsch and Paiton Levesque each added a base hit.

Madisonville 6

In their third game, Addison Monk led the way with a double and single. She was followed by Riley Robinson, Kylie Ryan, Colby Hollis, Vivian Still, Rebecca Mosley, Audrie Teutsch, Jacey Adams, Lainey Mercer and Lindsey Ryan with base hits.

Sabine 2

The Darlings made it a perfect 4-0 so far with a close win over Sabine. Jacey Adams led the offense with a double and single, followed by Kylie Ryan with a double and Addison Monk with a pair of base hits. Audrie Teutsch, Lainey Mercer and Vivian Still rounded out the offense for the Darlings by adding base hits.
