BENTON – Minden took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning on the road Thursday, but the Benton Tigers controlled the rest of the game, using a five-run second inning and a six-run sixth to defeat the Tide 11-1.
Minden starter Trace Francis didn’t have his best stuff, but he certainly didn’t benefit from four fielding errors.
Benton’s Tanner Craft pitched well for the opposition, tossing all six innings and allowing only three hits.
Minden and Benton will square off tonight at Griffith Stadium at 6 p.m. Benton can win the district title outright, while Minden can earn a shared crown.
