Minden girls off to hot start at World Series

by Minden Press-Herald

With one World Series title already in the bag, courtesy of the Minden 11u All-Stars, the Dixie Angels are in the midst of bringing home the city’s second.

The Minden Dixie Angels are currently in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, competing in the Dixie Angels World Series, and so far so good.

The Angels picked up a win in their first game, 13-3 over team Mississippi. Colby Hollis and Kylie Ryan combined to shut down the Mississippi lineup, each pitching two innings. Elisabeth Cage, McKenzie Warmack and Lillian Jolly each had two singles, followed by Hollis, Kaydree Kemp, Elyse Jackson, Dakota Howard and Lainey Mercer with singles.

The girls will be back in action Tuesday as they take on the host state, South Carolina.
