Minden man arrested on drug charges

A traffic stop for driving in the wrong lane led to the arrest of a reported fugitive.

Minden Police conducted a traffic stop on W.R. Reeder Street Sunday when officers reportedly saw a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of West Street. During the investigation, police learned that Donald Ray Henix, 25, of the 700 block of Sims Street, had a suspended license and two active warrants, one from Minden for unauthorized use of a moveable and as a fugitive from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to reports, officers also noted Henix appeared to be under the influence and requested consent to search his vehicle. During the search, what appeared to be five Ecstasy pills and roughly three grams of suspected marijuana were discovered inside a cigarette package hidden in the driver’s seat.

Henix was placed under arrest for possession of Schedule I CDS (ecstasy), driving under suspension, possession of Schedule I CDS (natural marijuana), the Minden warrant for unauthorized use of a moveable and as a fugitive from WPSO.
He was transported to police headquarters for booking and transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
