Maraist, ClayClay Maraist, MD believes his patients are an extension of the medical team and encourages them to actively participate in their care. Marasist says he is looking forward to meeting the obstetrics and gynecological needs of women at all stages of their lives and believes there is nothing more fulfilling than delivering babies into the world.

“Approachable” is the one word he uses to describe himself. Dr. Maraist takes medicine and the care of his patients very seriously but also finds time to blend in his humorous personality.

Dr. Maraist is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed medical school at University Health in Shreveport and continued his education by completing his Obstetrics/Gynecology internship and residency at University Health Shreveport.

Dr. Maraist grew up in St. Martinville and enjoys playing golf, hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening and spending time with his wife, Jodie, who is also an ob/gyn, and their dogs Izzie and Bella.

Dr. Maraist is accepting new patients at The Women’s Clinic located at 431 Homer Road in Minden. The Women’s Clinic provides a full range of obstetrical and gynecologic services including: Annual Well-Women Exams, Bone Density Screenings, Contraceptive Counseling, Laparoscopic & Minimally Invasive Techniques including Hysteroscopic Guided Sterilization with Essure devices, Urinary Incontinence Treatment, Menopause Management and Prenatal Care throughout Pregnancy and Delivery.   1. Dr. Maraist could not have completed medical school at University Health. There is no such medical school. He completed medical training at L SU School of Medicine in Shreveport. University Health is not affilated with LSU School of Medicine which is part of the LSU system. University Health is not.
