The Minden Crimson Tide fell to the Northwood Falcons at home Friday night, 57-46.
The loss puts a dent in Minden’s playoff hopes, as the Tide now need to likely win out for a postseason berth.
The Tide are now 14-10 on the season.
In the girls game, the Minden Lady Tiders (19-9, 5-3) were able to get a win, overpowering the Northwood Lady Falcons 55-24.
It was senior night at The Palace and Lady Tider head coach Jacob Brown was happy to honor his seniors with a win.
“We were able to honor our seniors who have been a part of this program over the last four years,” Brown said. “We hope this experience, being a part of athletics has helped instill a lot of values in them that will help them go on into the world and be successful.”
In the first quarter, Minden used a 13-0 run to take a commanding lead.
In the second quarter, the Lady Tiders got out in transition and ramped up the defense and rebounding to outscore the Lady Falcons 22-5 in the quarter.
At the half, Minden had sealed the deal by taking a 39-7 lead.
Bre Rodgers scored 14 points to lead the Lady Tiders, followed by Tiaga Pugh had 10 points, Sha’ Whiting had 10 points and Marlena Hill had eight points.
