Services celebrating the life of Ms. Neulon L. Kimble will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Donald Tucker officiating. A private interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park for immediate family. Friends and family are invited for visitation on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.

Neulon was born in Homer to John and Mattie Lewis on July 8, 1923. She was a teacher with Webster Parish for over 31 years. She received her B.A. degree from Grambling College and went on to the University of Colorado where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. After retirement, she served as a caregiver to many of those in need. She was a spiritual person and member of St. John’s Baptist Church for 84 years. Sister Kimble married her husband, Coleman Odell Kimble on May 15, 1942, at the young age of 19, and remained happily married for 69 years until Mr. Kimble’s death in 2013.

Neulon was preceded in death by her parents; John and Mattie Lewis; husband, Coleman Odell Kimble; sisters Vivian Lopo, Tessie Wright and Johnnye Kimble and brothers, Bob and Sellus Lewis.

She is survived by her sister Eugenia Thompson, several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank Ms. Charlotte Farley, Mary Durham and Tonnette Williams from St. Joseph Hospice, and Mr. Bob Jones, great-nephew to Mrs. Kimble for his devoted caregiving.
