Webster Parish authorities say a 17-year-old is now in custody after reportedly burglarizing a Cotton Valley church.

Dillon Roton, 17, of the 600 block of Doc Steed Road, was arrested on a warrant Friday from the Shreveport Office of Juvenile Justice for escape from custody. When he was transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, he was also arrested for simple burglary of a religious building and criminal damage to property. Bond was set at $12,000.

Deputy Terry C. Brown was dispatched to a motor shop in Dixie Inn to meet with Roton. Roton was placed under arrest on the warrant, and when he arrived at the jail, he was interviewed about the burglary.

Roton reportedly admitted to breaking into Mount Olive Baptist Church in Cotton Valley Tuesday, Feb. 16, and stealing a black veil blanket and a torch. He reportedly admitted to breaking a window to gain entry into the church, authorities said.

He is currently being held on a probation and parole warrant.
