A traffic stop ended in the arrest of the passenger in a vehicle after Minden Police discovered drugs on her.

Officer First Class Clint Smith stopped a vehicle on Sibley Road Saturday, May 21, for making an improper turn. Smith was given consent to search the vehicle as well as each occupant, according to reports.

Capt. Julie Harmon says during the search of the passenger, identified as Sarah Malese Johnson, 58, of the 300 block of Crow Street in Cotton Valley, four pills were discovered in her left front pocket. Inside her boot, they discovered 17 pills in a container, according to reports.

“They found pills, and when they got back to the office after checking the pills through the pill identifier, they found out they were hydrocodone,” she said.

Johnson was arrested for possession of Schedule II CDS (hydrocodone) and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
