Funeral services for Sam Sparks will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden with Bro. Jeff Fleniken and Bro. Brian Prucey officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Sam was born Aug. 30, 1923 in Ringgold and entered into rest Feb. 16, 2016 in Minden. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Sam retired from Winford Company as a heavy- duty mechanic and shop supervisor. He was a faithful member of Elm Grove Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nell Sparks, sons Danny Ray Sparks and wife Emerjean of Sibley, Richard Sparks and wife Vicky of Bossier City, Murray Sparks and wife Janie of Minden, Mike Sparks and wife Barbara of Sibley, Darren Sparks and wife Kim of Heflin, Robert Sparks and wife Casey of Heflin, daughters Debbie Kotansky and husband Joe of Minden, Bobbie Sparks of Ringgold, grandchildren, Brian, Ben, Adam, Brittney, Preston, Kailey, Levi, Mason, Trent, Justin, Alan, Dalston, Cassie, Skylie, Colin, Payton, Melanie, David Mikel, and Jonathan, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Adam Sparks, Ben Sparks, Brian Sparks, Mason Sparks, Trent Sparks, Preston Sparks and Levi Clark.

The family extends a special thanks to Ringgold Health Care, staff at Minden Medical Center and a special thanks to Dr. Michael Chanler and Dr. Scott Phillips and ICU nurses Bridgett and Kristi.
