Sarepta home invasion leads to arrest

Investigation of two suspects is ongoing

An armed robbery in a Sarepta home Sunday morning has led thus far to the arrest of a Shreveport woman who allegedly served as the driver for two others who invaded the home.

According to the arrest report, Sonya Brown, 31, was questioned by Webster CID detectives and admitted to driving two males to an address on Cox Road, knowing they planned to commit a robbery.

Brown said she thought the two males were simply going to steal something from a shed and that one of them told her no one would be home. Instead, they reportedly invaded the home, fired a shot, tied up the male homeowner, and struck him in the head, causing injuries that would require staples.

Those home at the time of the robbery include a husband and wife, a 17-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old girl. The younger girl witnessed everything, the report said.

Brown said afterward she drove the two males to another vehicle and traveled back to Minden, where she was stopped by police.

A representative of the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that investigation on the two male suspects was still ongoing, and no further arrests had been made.

Brown was charged with principle to armed robbery.
