Shots fired call leads to 2 arrests

A shots fired call Tuesday lead to the arrest of two men on weapon charges.

Jarius Rogers, 23, of the 300 block of Long Street, was charged with principal to illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.

Jaryon Stephens, 22, of the 200 block of Virgina is also facing the same charge.

Police were called to the 300 block of Plateau Street just before 1 p.m. Tuesday after the sound of gunshots were heard.

At the scene, investigators reportedly found a 0.45 caliber handgun. It was taken into custody.

Witnesses identified the suspected triggermen as Stepehens and Rogers and warrants were issued for their arrests.

Within hours, the duo was arrested by Minden Police Detective Keith King Jr. in the 300 block of Long Street.

The two were taken to police headquarters for questioning before being booked on the charges and transfered to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
