Tarheel boys do it like Taz

by Minden Press-Herald

Thanks to Minden High School Assistant Principal Shaun Houston, Minden TarHeel Basketball Teams changed their team rally cry from “Do It FOR Taz” to “Do It LIKE Taz.”

In his expressions at the memorial service for Taz Harris, Assistant Principal Houston suggested to the team that they “Do It Like Taz” in all that they do on and off court. And that is just what the team has been doing ever since. This past weekend, the 10th grade boys team brought home the Second Place trophy at the Primetime Summer Hoops Tournament held in Shreveport. They competed against teams from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The #4 that the players are holding up is the number worn by their teammate Taz Harris, who passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Minden Patillo TarHeels Organization is a non-profit basketball organization for boys and girls ages 14-17.
