A man on parole has been arrested after taking money from an elderly woman reportedly with no intentions of performing any work.

Webster Parish Sheriff’s Detective Dustin Reynolds says Dale Argo promised to perform work for an elderly woman and took payment for work he never performed.

“He told an elderly woman that he would perform work on her house, took the money with no intentions of performing the work,” he said.

Argo, 61, of the 500 block of Sullivan Street, was arrested April 11, for theft of assets from an aged person and violation of parole. Bond was set at $5,000 with a probation hold placed on him. Reynolds says he was already on parole for similar crimes.

He was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
