Adams apprehended by Shreveport Police

The third suspect in a rash of shootings in late March was apprehended by Shreveport Police Friday. Daron Dejuan Adams, 19, of Fullerton Street in Minden was arrested during a traffic stop in Shreveport, according to police reports.

Adams was a passenger in the vehicle during the stop, at which time warrant checks were run by Shreveport Police. A hit came back on Adams, and he was taken into custody, and Minden Police were notified.

Adams is accused of shooting Sharman Shehee in the face in the 700 block of Pershing Street on the evening of March 26. Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper said Shehee was shot in the face, just below the nose.

After his arrest, Adams was taken to a secure interview room and read his rights per Miranda, the report said. He admitted he had the gun and shot Sheehee. He said the shooting was not intentional, and he did not go to Pershing Street with the intent to hurt anyone.

Adams was later transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. He appeared in court before 26th Judicial Judge Mike Nerren Monday.
