Minden Police arrested a man on outstanding warrants for reportedly injuring a man when he threw a glass bottle at him.

Kendrick Dominique Jenkins, 25, of the 200 block of Columbia Street, was arrested Wednesday on warrants for aggravated second-degree battery and simple criminal damage to property.

Police Chief Steve Cropper says his arrest stems from a March incident in which Jenkins and another man were involved in an altercation. The victim was sitting in his vehicle, and Jenkins tried to open the door but was unsuccessful. Jenkins then reportedly threw a glass bottle through the car window striking the victim in the head, causing a laceration.

“Apparently, the bottle hit the vehicle as it was going through the window,” the chief said.

The victim was transported to Minden Medical Center for treatment of his wound.

On the date of his arrest, Lt. Chris Cheatham and Sgt. Ryan Barnette took Jenkins into custody at the 600 block of Stone Street. He was then transported to police headquarters and later transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
